Back Scratcher Ginger - (Tapeinochilos ananassae)

The Back Scratcher Ginger occurs as an understorey plant in rainforests of north eastern Queensland and New Guinea. In the rainforest this plant usually does not exceed 1m in height but in a sunny garden situation will exceed 2m. The Back Scratcher Ginger is well suited to Cairns climate and makes a spectacular garden plant.
